We have a garden in our backyard. The garden contains a lot of vegetables that have produced a lot. We have tomato plants that have really grown. Inside one of the plants is a birds nest that we have watched since the two babies were just eggs. These eggs hatched and we have watched the momma bird care for her babies like any other momma would. A few days ago we noticed there was a baby missing from the nest. Ashley and I began to look for the baby and noticed that it had fallen onto the ground below. The poor momma bird was noticeably concerned about how she would get her bird back. She didn’t know what was going on and stayed very close to us. We picked the little bird back up and put it in the nest. The momma quickly returned to the nest to take care of the little one that had fallen. She cared for that bird like it had never left the nest.
We all know someone who has grown up in the church and were faithful Christians that at one point or another has jumped out of their “Christian nest”. They may have been pulled out by others or voluntarily left. A lot of the times we don’t know how to get them back in the nest. During these struggles, we don’t need to stop trying to reel them back in. We must continue to pray for their return. God can help us get them back but we must not give up. Keep our faith in God and he will help us find the way to bring them back.
Do you have a child or sibling who has decided to take a different path in life? Do you know someone who has fallen away from Christ? Please don’t give up.. Their soul is loved by many. Keep pressing on and God will help.
