Everywhere you go in Nashville you see under construction signs. It seems that with every passing day there is another road, building, or subdivision being built to accommodate the mass amount of people that are moving into the area each month. Builders build houses to meet the specifications of the owner. After the house is built and turned over to the new owners, it is up to them to decide on how they want their home and what all to invest in their home.
From the day we are born, we are under construction. A lot of people don’t realize it but God begins to work on us from the day we are conceived. God begins to build our “house” (body and soul) from day 1. For 9 months he makes it exactly like he wants it to be. Once we are born, God turns ownership over to the new owner, our parents. As parents, we have a very specific job. We are commanded to raise our children in His light. For the next several years, we continue to build our children until the day they leave our house and begin their own “construction project”. Even after they leave our homes, we are still building our home/soul. We have to live our life for Christ and follow His commandments.
The truth is that our life on earth is never a completed project. From conception until that final last breath, we are under construction. God gave us the ability to mold our souls like we want. How we decide to mold our life determines our eternal life and if it will be with Him. We are a home under construction until we meet our Lord.
What is great about God is that if we don’t like the way our current home is, we have the ability to start over. We have the ability to reach out to Him and ask him to give us a complete makeover. God forgives. If your home is not on the right path of completion to live with the Lord in the end, I encourage you to reach out today and get that forgiveness you need and guidance you need to get back right with God.
“I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace.” Philippians 1:6-7
