Everyone remembers exactly where we were when the planes hit the twin towers on 9/11. We remember the horrific scene that was aired on live television as the towers were in flames, people were jumping to their deaths, and then the buildings began to fall. The scenes of horror were forever burned into our memories. Out of all of the tragedy that took place on that day, there was a positive event that occurred. It is hard to image that something good could come out of something bad, but it did. At that moment, our entire country became ONE. We became a family. The USA became united. We were the United States. Everyone experienced the same tragedy and we bonded, together.
The unity of the country can also apply to our Christian faith. One things that everyone has in common is that we all have experienced the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Everyone has had their own version of their road trip to their Christianity. Many people have experienced horrible tragedies, unforgettable moments; while others found their faith through blessings they received, but in the end, they found Christ. It doesn’t matter the journey that got us to where we are now, the only thing that matters is that we are ONE. We are one family of followers. Like 9/11, when everyone became united for a short period of time, we as Christians need to stand united. God is more powerful than any event that could ever occur. He has already overcome the world so we can live with Him forever in Heaven. It’s up to us to get there…
