Secrets…

You are on a work trip. It is Thursday and it has been a long hard week already and you are exhausted from all of the work you have had. You are in a busy town with a lot of things to do so you decide that you will be a tourist for a night and site see. Your family is back home, already in bed, resting for their next day of school or work. You are alone and want to pass the time so you go out to have a little fun before you leave. You start off at a sports bar, eating an appetizer. Then you head to another bar because you hear the band from outside and you decide you want to hear them. Each place you go, you get a drink, then another, and another. Before you know it, you are tipsy. You start to feel a little guilt. Now you remember that you are alone in a town that you do not know anyone. So, you decide that you want to relive your younger days and just party all night. You meet a group of young guns and spend the next three hours partying, dancing, and doing whatever happens to occur next. The next morning, you wake up, head to the airport with your hangover… You are not remorseful for the things you did the night before because you know that the secret is safe with you…

It is unfortunate that there are many people who do this daily with their life. Whether it is out drinking and partying while the family is away, or some other type of immoral activity that they know is a sin but think it’s OK because no one is around they know.

What they are forgetting is that God is always there, he was beside them at the bar, at the dance club, and every place they went after. He never left their side. No matter how hard you try, you cannot keep secrets from God. God is the ultimate judge and he knows all the details of your life. If you are hiding things from your wife, parents, or kids. God still knows. The good thing is that God is a forgiving God and he will forgive you of those sins you are hiding. You must repent of those sins but He will forgive you and continue to love you like He always has. It is up to you.
