We live in a world where people demand a quick fix. We want to lose 20 lbs, we go out and try to find the fastest way possible to lose that weight. It may not be healthy but one pill a day can get the weight off fast. If we want to go buy a car, we go out and find the car and quickly fill out the paperwork to finance the car because we want it now!! We don’t want to save, we go to get it the quickest way possible. It’s called instant gratification and our lives are mostly wrapped around it.
Unfortunately if you are looking for a quick fix for our faith, there is not a get it now and pay back later religion. God didn’t say “Go ahead and commit as many sins as you like and when you get time, you can think of me and I’ll forgive you”.
Christians should work on living a life that works toward the goal of eternal life. We need to focus on God’s commands and spreading His word so we can have the prize He has been creating for us. Yes, it may be inconvenient at times and may be demanding but how much faith we have depends on how much we are willing to give up for Him.
God is Good!!
“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 16:24-26
