It is the baseball playoffs! One of my favorite times of the year, especially when the Braves are playing in it. Postseason is what these guys have been working for their entire year. 162 games to get to this point and now they are taking it game by game to advance and win it all.
Each game of the year starts off and lasts nine innings. The game starts and the teams try their best to be the first team to score and keep the lead. The quicker they keep the lead, the better in case the game was to end early with a rainout. If the game passes the 5th inning and weather causes the game to end, the game counts as a full game. So it is important to get ahead as quickly as possible and keep that momentum going throughout the game.
Our life can be compared to a baseball game. Most of the time, people are born and live well into their 80s or 90s. If you take each decade of your life and compare it to one inning, living in your 90’s would be making it to the end of the game, the 9th inning. Sometimes in life, tragedies occur that cause people to live only through their 50s or 60s (or even earlier). With life, there is not a minimum amount of time on earth before your game of life may end. You may only be in your 20s or may be in your 70s. It is very important to us to be prepared at every stage of our life for our call to go home to the Lord. We do not need to coast through the first few decades with the thought that we will make it until we are 90. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone.
Are you cruising through life without any worries of the future? Are you living life your way because you think there will be time later on in life that you can get your life with Christ back the way it should be? Next week, next month, or even tomorrow may not come and if you are not living your life with Christ, you will not be living with God for eternity. The best part about all of this is that you can get your life straight right now. God is a forgiving God and he will forgive you but it is up to you to repent.
God is Good..
