THE GREAT PUMPKIN
How do you get a pumpkin to grow? Pumpkins are like most other type of vegetation; they start off from a small seed and with a lot of watering, they grow to be large and beautiful fruit.. (Yes, I had to look up if it was a fruit or a vegetable!). Pumpkins require a lot of maintenance to grow. Once grown, they can be used for a lot of things from spices, deserts, and decorations.
Our Christian life is like the life of a pumpkin. Yes, it sounds weird that we can be compared to big orange pumpkin. God picks us to be a part of His family just like we pick out the perfect pumpkin for the fall.
What is the first thing that kids want to do with a pumpkin? Carve it of course! God does the same thing with us, he carves us into the exact design he wants us to be. Something that stands out to the crowd.
After the kids are done carving the pumpkin, the next step is very important…Time to make it GLOW!! Once again, when God gets finished molding us, He takes a special light, the light of God, and places it inside of us. God makes us into “The Great Pumpkin”.
Once God has His light shining through us, we can be used for many amazing things. We can share His great news and bring others to know Christ as well. We can be the seasoning to help someone grow and have a life with Christ and a chance of eternity with Him.
Christians, let us not be afraid to have our light shining bright. Let us take the person God carefully carved us to be and use ourselves as a tool to grow His kingdom.
