Thanksgiving is not even here yet but we are the type of people who put up our Christmas tree the first weekend after Halloween. We love the holiday season and we like seeing Christmas in our house more than just a few weeks of the year. A few years ago, we purchased a tree that is pre-lit with flickering lights. I have to admit, the lights are nice and give it a more relaxing glow to the room.
In our Christian life, we can be like the flickering light on a Christmas tree. Some moments we are shining bright with the love of Christ and other moments we dim and show no reflection of our Lord in our life.
We are to constantly let our light shine but the longer we go without acting in Christ’s image, the dimmer our light becomes. Sometimes we have a loose connection (tragic event) in our life that causes us to fall away momentarily. We may not fall away from Christ but we tend to drift away from following his commandments like we should.
It is important that we strive to let our light shine as bright as possible all the time. Try not to let it flicker at all. We never know who is watching us and using us as an example so we need always keep a constant bright glow of Christ.
If your light is burning out and you need help, let us pray for you. We would love to have you part of our Christian family that will help you recharge your battery. God’s recharge is much more powerful than any other.
Our light can be a guide to others who are seeking Christ.
God is Good…
Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
I have been blessed and encouraged by your devotionals. Thank you for sharing your love for the Lord and His word.
