Today is a special day in many ways. First and foremost, it is Sunday. It is the Lord’s day and we should be up and getting ready to attend worship and honor our Heavenly Father. He has blessed us beyond measure and spending a moment of time in worship a few days a week is the least we can do for Him. Get up, get dressed, and join us in worship this morning!
Second, although it is federally observed tomorrow, today is November 11th, Veterans Day. A lot of people in our country do not believe that Veteran’s Day is an important part of our culture. It is a day that we honor those who have served and also those who have sacrificed for our country. These earthly heroes have fought for our freedom to have the ability to worship our Lord without the fear of persecution.
Today, and every day, we need to thank a veteran because it is not just one day a year that they should be recognized. If you see a veteran or any military personnel, please thank them for their service and willingness to fight and die for our freedom.
Like the soldiers, God sent his son to earth to die for us, die for our freedom. Jesus died for all of our sins so we can have the ability to have eternal life with Him in Heaven.
Today is Sunday… It is Veteran’s Day… It is the Lord’s Day.
