We all know how difficult it can be when we go out house shopping. You spend many hours before you even begin to look at homes, determining what kinds of features you want in your new home. The new house will need to have everything you want and need in a home. Then the fun begins. You start booking appointments to go look at different houses that you have narrowed your selection down to. A few houses fit your basic needs but then you find the perfect home. The house with the big yard, the right amount of bedrooms with a bonus room, and an amazing kitchen for your wife (or husband!). It is exactly what you had dreamed of with even more amenities.
The time has arrived for you to sign some papers and put in an offer on the house of your dreams. The realtor submits the offer. A couple of days later, the realtor comes back and tells you that your offer has been declined. There are other offers on the table that are a little better. You decided to make a counter offer and to your disappointment, it is declined as well. Back and forth, back and forth, but in the end, you lose the battle. Another family had made an offer on the home the owner thought was better. You are back at square one and disappointed.
The home search and buying process can be extremely difficult but luckily for us, there is a home waiting for us that we will not have to fight over. This home will contain more amenities than we would ever be able to imagine here on earth (1 Corinthians 2:9). Jesus tells us that He is going to prepare a place for us in His Father’s house which is Heaven (John 14:1-2). This home will be specifically for us, those who love Christ and follow his commandments. He promises to us that those who overcome the world, follow God’s commandments, and lives a life for Christ will inherit all things (Revelation 21:7). This includes the mansion he has prepared for us in Heaven!
How amazing does this sound? A home greater than we could ever imagine in a place of no sorrow, no pain, and no worries. Why would you not want to work your hardest to get to a place like this?
Unfortunately, not everyone will inherit this amazing neighborhood in Heaven. It is very specific that those who do not follow Christ will face the second death. This second death will not be joyful and will be an eternal pain (Revelation 21:8).
The best part of all of this is that even if you are living a life in sin, you can still have your place in Heaven. You have to make the change to get out of our sinful ways and live your life for Christ. Repent and get your life right with the Lord. It is not too late right now but it could be soon.
God is Good.
John 14:1-2: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you”
1 Corinthians 2:9: But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
Revelation 21:7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.’
Revelation 21:8 But the cowardly, [a]unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
