Psalms 46 1-2 “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;”
When we are in trouble we tend to forget to turn to the one who can help us out the most. The only person who can actually turn our life around and give us more than any other earthly being.
One evening Jesus and his disciples loaded up on a boat and started to head to the other side of the sea. Jesus was tired so he decided he would rest. While He was resting, a strong storm quickly approached and caused the disciples to become frightened. When they were in trouble and knew that they could not go any further, they turned to Jesus and woke him. Jesus immediately calmed the storm.
We face many obstacles in our life that we try to defend and win on our own. The death of a family member seems to be one of the most common difficulties in our life that we all try to deal with on our own. For days, months, and even years we struggle with the loss of a loved one. Sometimes it is easy to blame God for their death instead of turning to Him for comfort.
God is our shelter and our strength. He is always present when we need Him the most. We do not need to worry and drag ourselves down when we are in trouble, instead reach out to Him for guidance.
If you are struggling with something that has been eating at your constantly, please consider giving it all to Christ. Pray to Him. Let others into your situation and let them pray for you as well and try to help you. Being with your Christian friends and family can help you overcome your barriers.
God is Good.
