Yesterday’s post about “Someone Will Die Today” had me thinking about death for a while. Death is something that seems like we are all afraid of. Maybe not death itself but the act of dying. People always talk about how they would like to die in their sleep since it will be a more peaceful death than a tragic accident.
Should we be afraid of death?
So what is the big deal about dying? Are we afraid to leave our friends and family on earth? Are we afraid that when we die we may not see our friends and family in Heaven?
Do we really die?
When we leave our earthly body, if we are faithful followers of Christ, we will have a new spiritual body. Our life on earth will end but a new journey will begin.
I agree that many of us are scared of the act of dying or how we will die. It may be a peaceful death or it may be a painful death.
What if the reason you are scared to leave the earth is that you will not see your family and friends in Heaven? If that is the case, it may be time for you to reach out to them, pray for them, and hopefully convert them to followers of Christ. We can show them the path to eternal life!
God loves us and wants us to be with Him in Heaven but He left the choice to us to join Him. If you are struggling with your faith, please reach out to someone for help. We can pray with you and for you. If you have a friend that is struggling, invite them to worship. Also, pray for them so their life can be changed as well.
God is Good.
2 Corinthians 5:1-3 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. ..
