Do You Get Discouraged?

Do you ever get discouraged? Why is it that we get discouraged and forget that we can turn to God for help? Sometimes when something happens in our life that has a potentially negative effect, we turn to our friends and look for comfort through them? Is it because we know that our friends have instant communication with us and they will talk to us directly?

Isaiah 41, God tells us to fear not because He is with us. This is both a command and also a promise. Sometimes we feel like we are all alone in the world but we have Christ. Some friends come and go but God is always right by our side.

Let’s be honest, it is hard to not to have fear or worry in some situations. There are times when we find out that our health may be in jeopardy. When this happens, we get certain tests done to find out if the results are positive or negative. During the time frame of waiting for the test results, we tend to worry a little bit about what the potential outcome may be. It is very hard to not have any fear of the future.

Throughout the Bible, we notice that God is always by our sides. One of the most well-known Bible stories is the story of David and Goliath. David volunteered to attempt to take down the giant. Others did not want to face this nine foot man. They were scared of him. David, who knew that God was by his side, took on the challenge. With just a stone and a sling, David accomplished his goal successfully and killed Goliath.

David knew that he had God by his side. He did not question anything and appeared that he did not worry much about the giant he was about to face. He went into the situation with confidence that God was going to guide him through it.

What is the giant you are facing? Is it health issues? Job issues? Family issues? Whatever it may be, try not to worry and remember that God is sitting right beside you. He will never leave your side and will make sure you are taken care of. God loves you. Have faith that He will do what is best for you.

God is good…
