Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day. It is a day that we, here in the United States, remember all of those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Millions of people have voluntarily chosen to fight for our freedoms and millions of them have died doing it.

1 John 3:16By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

People from soldiers to civilians have sacrificed their lives for others.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

As we remember those who have died fighting for our freedom so we can have the ability to worship or God freely, we need to remember the one who has provided an even more amazing gift for us. The gift of eternal Life. God sent His Son down to earth to live among us and die in front of us so we could have forgiveness of sins and live with Him forever.

This gift was more valuable than anything we will ever receive.

God is Good.
