We all know people that are lost. We all know people that have never been saved. You may be one of those people who have fallen away from Christ and haven’t decided to live faithfully again. You also may be one who has fallen away and thinks that the life of sin that you live in is too much for Christ and you are afraid to come back.
Whatever the case may be, God is always ready to welcome you back with open arms.
The parable of the prodigal son gives us a clear example of someone who went off, ventured away from his father, and lived a life that would not be approved by the father. The son took his father’s inheritance and left. Eventually, he ended up losing it all. The young son did not know what to do but to return to his father. Upon his return, he intended to beg for his father’s forgiveness so he would allow him to come back. Surprisingly, the father welcomed him back with open arms and loved him just as he always had.
God is the same way as the father in the parable. No matter what you have done in your life or how many sins you have been living in, He is always there with his arms wide opened waiting for you to jump in them. He will forgive you of all of your sins if you are truly sorry for them.
Before you think you deserve Hell and are afraid to come back to Him, give it a shot. There is a family of believers that are waiting to comfort you and give you the love you need to help.
If you know someone who is like the prodigal son and needs help, be the light and encourage them to come back to Christ.
It’s time to come home!
God is good…
