Do you have kids that are scared of the dark? Are you one of those who don’t like the darkness? More specifically, are you or your kids the type that does not like walking through the house at night? If you get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, do you get a little worried as you walk house?
At our house, we have a lot of nightlights. Our nightlights are the kind that is very dim when there is no motion and as soon as there is motion detected, they light up brighter. It helps our kids to be able to see from their bedrooms to their final destination when they get up in the middle of the night.
It is amazing what one little night can do to the confidence of our children. That one light helps them to be more confident when they are moving around at night.
As we walk through life, we will experience many dark times. These times will be experienced in a variety of different events from the loss of a job to unexpected deaths. It will feel like we are walking along in the dark with no one there to comfort us. We must always remember that God is there to be the light of our life.
John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Isn’t it comforting to know that Jesus told us that if we follow Him, we will never have to walk in darkness, especially alone?
The past few weeks have been filled with many tragedies. From unexpected deaths to unknown sicknesses taking the lives of people, there have been times of darkness for many. Remember what Jesus said in John. He is the light and He will always be walking beside you.
