Routine

Over the past week, I have broken my routine of posting my 30-second thoughts each morning before 6:30am. It all started when we went out of town. I get sidetracked at nights and then I sleep a bit later in the mornings. Now, I am trying to get back to that routine but it has been difficult.

We all have routines for different things. It can be very easy to break that routine if we get sidetracked just a little. One of our families popular routines to break is getting up early for school. All school year, the kids have to get up at 6:15am to be ready to leave by 7am to go to Columbia Academy. They have to go early because Ashley having to be at work at 7:30am. Then, summer comes and its time to sleep in every day. Well, now the school routine is broken and when school starts back we all have to start it over again. It can be very difficult to start back.

The same happens to us in our spiritual life. We can get distracted very easily. When sports season come around, we can break our Wednesday night worship routine by skipping and practicing. The same way with school. If evens occur during worship or church events, we can easily choose the other events over those. It is easy to break but hard to get back in the habit.

Our nightly devotional routine has been one of the hard ones to maintain. With school in session, it seems to be difficult to have a lot of time to do a lot of things. We must remember to make time for Christ in our daily routine.

If you haven’t been making time for him in our daily life, now is a good time to start. I know that we have struggled and struggle daily and it is something that we will be working on to get better at. Making Him a priority in your life will help make your days a lot better. Start with Him and end with Him each and every day.

God is Good…
