Are you reliable?
What would happen if you were the main person in charge of a project at your workplace and you did not show up to meetings? What if the team members did not come to the meetings?
For those who play sports, what if your teammates did not show up for practice? More importantly, what if they did not show up for the games?
In both of these cases, you would fail. The project would more than likely fail because of the lack of effort by the team and the sports team would lose or have to forfeit because of the lack of dedication by the players.
Being reliable is very important for success.
Being reliable means that people can depend on you, especially when you have already committed to them. When you do help, you give your best. You don’t just show up and stand around, you work to get the task done to the best of your ability.
Deuteronomy 7:9 “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments”
Being reliable goes beyond just helping someone out, working on a project, or being part of a team. We also need to be reliable to God. When we become Christians, we gave God a promise that we will do what we can to spread His Word. He calls on us each day to bring people to Him. If we are not doing what He has asked, then we are not being reliable to God. We are breaking the promise that we initially made with Him. God calls us to serve others and being reliable is a vital part of doing just that.
