Helping Others

What does it mean to be Christlike?

Throughout the past year, I have made many comments that we should be Christlike. There are many verses in the Bible that clearly state that we should walk in the image of Christ so we can one day spend eternity with Him. But what does being Christlike entail of? Well, there are many different things but the one that I see myself struggling with the most is helping others.

Jesus walked the earth and He served others (John 13:14-15). Even during the last day, He continued to serve.

There are many ways that you can reach out to someone and help them. If you have the resources to help them, you should do it. We have been blessed with so many amazing friends that have helped us throughout our life. Many continue to offer assistance daily.

Helping others can be something as simple as mowing their yard, grabbing their mail, watching their pet, cooking a meal, and the list can go on and on. I’m not the best cook in the world so helping others by cooking would not be a great idea but the option to pick up food is always there. Even if you don’t think you would be good at helping in certain scenarios, you can help by organizing someone who can do it to take care of whatever the need is.

We are all children of God. We need to take care of our family. Whether that family is your immediate earthly family or your brothers and sisters in Christ; we need to take care of each other.

Today is a good day to start. If you know anyone in need of help of any kind, please consider helping or organizing help for them. Be a servant to them.

God will reward those who help others.

God is Good…
