Distracted

We wake up head to work, spend hours a day discussing different things with our co-workers. After work we home and plan supper, get homework with the kids, do laundry, pack lunches, kids take showers, and then it’s bedtime. The one moment of relaxation we get a day. The TV comes on and we fall asleep. We had a good day. But did we forget something?

There we are, lost in a world of distractions. One person that we struggle to reach out to is God. Why can it be so difficult to talk to God? When things are going just exactly the way we want them, we forget to talk to God.. We don’t remember to thank him for the great day we had.

Suddenly, you are struck with some bad news.. It may be that you lost your job, lost a family member, or may have got sick. Who is the first person most of us immediately turn to? We turn to God. We know God will listen and he can heal.

So… Why is it so difficult to remember to talk to God daily. Can we not thank God when we get to work for the safe trip in, for protecting us from our enemies throughout the day? Why does it have to be a tragic event for us to fall back to God? It shouldn’t be this way at all. God’s line is always available and never busy. We need to have daily communication with God. And most days we need to talk to him multiple times each day.
