Separated

Romans 8:35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?”

What separates you from the love of Christ?

The world we live in throws us in many different directions each day. Temptations arise everywhere we go. We are not immune from being overtaken by the world. As Christians, it can actually be a harder walk because we strive to put Christ first and the world does not want that.

In this passage of Romans, Paul asks a few questions that help us realize what we have when we have Christ in our life.

  1. If God is for us, who can be against us?
  2. He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
  3. Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.
  4. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 3
  5. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

The short answer, nothing. Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. No matter what we do, Christ will always love us. God is for us, all the time. Christ is alive and He loves us always.

Based on scripture, we know that God will stand with us always but that does not mean that we all will stand with Him.

The world gets in the way. The devil knows that God’s love for us cannot be broken but he does try to break our love for Christ.

How? Simple… Anything that comes in the way of your relationship with Christ. Where will you be during the next worship service? Will you be there or is there an event you will be attending instead that doesn’t strengthen your relationship with Him?

What about your phone? Hard to think that a little piece of technology can destroy your relationship with God but it can. People spend hours a day on their phone but don’t spend a single minute with God. The world takes control and distracts you from what you should be doing.

There are many more things that can cause you to lose the love you have for Christ. The devil wants to break the bond you have through every mean possible. Do not let that happen. Rethink your priorities in life and place God back on top and everything else behind Him.

God’s love for us will always be solid and everlasting. Will yours be the same?

God is Good…
