Stand Out

We as Christians are called to stand out, be different, but be Christlike. Be different? In a world where everyone expects us to be just like them, we need to think differently, act differently, and live our life completely different than the world defines for us. It will set us apart from others.

When we set ourselves apart from others, we have to do it in a Christlike manner. We don’t need to set ourselves apart in a negative aspect but in a positive one. We have to give ourselves to God so He can teach us how to live a faithful life in a fruitless world.

Let’s face it, life is extremely busy. Everything wants to take possession of our time and energy. School, sports, friends, family, homework, work, and thousands of more activities have the ability to destroy our walk with Christ and push our time away from Him. Before it is too late, we are lost in the world. We have spent zero time with Him.

So what do we need to do? Slow down.

If you have to wake up an hour early to start your morning off with Christ, do it. If you have to stay up an hour later to end your day with Christ, do it. You can pray while you are sitting in a doctors office waiting room. You can read your Bible on your phone while you are waiting at the DMV for your license renewal. Although the world is fast-paced and busy, there are many gaps in our day that we can fill with the word of God.

1 Peter 1:15-16; “but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy”

We are commanded to stand out and be like Christ. Are you?
