- God has provided all life for us
- God said “My thoughts are not your thoughts, my ways are not your ways”
HOW DO WE KNOW
- Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
- Hebrews 13:8 :Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
- Malachi 3:6 “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.
If God doesn’t change, what are we supposed to do?
Prov 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all they heart….”
It may be hard to believe but there are some things that God does NOT want changed. If God wanted them changed, He would have made it a point to direct us on how to change them and when to do it.
God did not tell us to let the world change us, He told us to life the cross up and change the world.
You can look around the world today, even in our own neighborhoods and see places of worship changing to what the world has defined. Groups of people come into congregations, express their ideas, and church leaders seem to fold under the pressure of the group and allow something that is not defined in scripture. Why do congregations change?
Why do people change? How do we let the world get into our hearts and change them? You see it more and more each day. People buckling under the pressure of the world and going along with sin. It doesn’t matter if scripture clearly lays out what is wrong, they ignore the facts and go with what they want it to say.
In Acts, the beginning of the church has unity. There was not division until people started doing what God did not really want them to do . In Acts 2, all believers were together and they all were on the same page with their beliefs.
People are all about bring people into their building to entertain. I’ve heard people tell me that they go to church because of the awesome band they have. First of all, if that is the reason they are going, that is the wrong reason. God didn’t tell us to entertain the people, he told us to save them.. Teach them…
The church is not a social agency. It is not a club you join to socialize with others. We are to stand spiritually and do what God commanded us to be.
We live in a world of darkness. Matt 5:13, the Lord mentioned that we are the light of the world, the salt of the earth. The devil wants us to think that the darkness will kill the light but it is the opposite. A small light will light up the largest darkness. Try it out. Go into a large room and light a small lantern. You will be amazed at what it can do.
We need to use Paul as an example. Paul didn’t endure because he was strong, he was strong because he endured..
Don’t apologize for being Christians…
God is Good…
