Joy Week

IT IS JOY WEEK..

I’ve mentioned before that our family listens to the Bobby Bones Show each morning while we are on our way to work and school. This week has been a special week on the show. It is JOY WEEK! Bobby Bones and his crew spend an entire week encouraging listeners to choose joy, spread happiness, and do great things for others. People from all over the country share their experiences throughout the week of how someone has touched their life.

You may not realize this but Joy is actually contagious. Everyone wants to be joyful. God wants all of his children to be filled with joy. The joy that we spread to others puts a smile on their face and in turn it makes them want to do good for others as well.

So, what is holding us back from doing good for others, spreading joy, and serving others when they are in need? Is it because we are to busy with other things to take time to help others? Is it not convenient for us to do good for someone else? Spreading joy is a Christ-like characteristic. We are commanded to walk in his light and that includes going above and beyond to help those in need. You may not be able to all the time but there needs to be some valuable effort in serving others.

Everyone we know needs some type of encouragement at some point in their life. Whether they are experiencing health problems, loss of a job, or loss of a family member; people need encouraged. God presents opportunities for us to show love, spread joy, and encourage others but it’s up to us to take advantage of those times.

Today, do good. Find someone to help out and make smile. Look for someone who is struggling with a sickness, call them, pray for them, and let them know that you are there to help. These Christ-like actions can not only help someone struggling but can bring them closer to God as well.

God is Good.

Galatians 6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
