Almost Doesn’t Count

It is the fourth quarter and your team is down by one touchdown. It is the championship game and your team is down to the final two minutes of the game. Every two-minute drill that has been practiced throughout the year is running through the mind of every player on the field. The clock starts and your offense begins to work its way down the field. Time quickly passes and the ball is now at the 5-yard line with just 10 seconds left in the game. The ball is snapped, a quick slant to the right and your team scores!!! TOUCHDOWN!

Now, it is a simple point after to tie the game and put you into overtime. The coach calls a timeout to give the kicker a little more time to get comfortable before kicking. The special teams take the field. Everyone lines up, the ball is snapped, the kick is up, and MISSED… The kicker missed the extra point to tie the game. The game is over and your team has lost. Sheer disappointment spreads across everyone’s face. Total silence and disbelief fill the stands. Your team almost won… Almost took home the crown… Almost….

We often times use this term, almost, when we try to make ourselves feel better when we come close to winning but we just fall short. We almost did this and we almost did that but we were not successful at what we were trying to accomplish. Sadly, almost doesn’t count.

In our Christian life, there is not an almost. Like in life, almost simply does not count. We live our life fully for Christ all the time.

Did you know that someone who is ‘almost’ saved is just like the person who has never had a desire to worship Christ? That person may have attended a church their entire life but was never saved but in the end, they fall short.

When it is time for Judgement Day, there will not be any almost Christians accepted into Heaven. Christ is not preparing a place for those who almost worshiped him or almost followed his commandments. You have to be fully engaged in Christ and follow him. You are either all in or all out. No almosts.

There are many reasons people will almost make it to Heaven. They simply believe that all they have to do is believe in God. It is great that you believe in Christ but only believing will almost get you to Heaven.

Do you want to spend eternity with your Christian family? Do you want your earthly family to join you in Heaven? Then everyone needs to be committed fully with Christ. You are either saved or you are lost.

So how do you feel about yourself? Do you think you are going to Heaven or do you know that you are going to spend eternity with Christ? You cannot be 99% sure, you have to be 100% sure.

If you are unsure that are you 100% going to Heaven, please pray and let us pray for you as well. God is an amazing forgiving God and He will accept you back in if you are ready to be all in with Christ. If you need a family to help you get to Heaven, we have an amazing family that can help you. Just reach out to us and we will help you.

God is Good!!

2 Corinthians 6:2 For He says “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
