Balanced Life

What is something that frustrates you? Something that seems so easy to do but a lot of times it just doesn’t work out like you want it to and it causes you to be frustrated? There may be many things in life that does this but for us, well Ashley, it is one simple task that oftentimes drives her nuts when she can’t get it right.

Balancing the checkbook…

I admit, Ashley does this part of the work and in this situation, I fail miserably at assisting her. Anyways, this one simple task can drive her crazy when it is off just a small bit. For a long period of time, she will sit and calculate, recalculate, and then when she is done, she will calculate everything again. Sometimes, it just does not balance out as it should. One little mistake somewhere in her balance sheet throws the whole thing off. Sometimes it takes her a long time to figure the one mishap out and other times it is a very quick resolution.

It can be hard to keep your checkbook balanced especially if you do not pay attention to it for a long time.

Our spiritual life works the same way. We live in a world that puts everything ahead of Christ. Materialistic things, sports, and work seem to take priority in our daily life. The more that we worldly things that we allow into our life, the more out of balance with Christ we become. Once we are at this state, we are so out of balance that we don’t even know what caused it. It takes time to sit down and figure out what impacted us.

But, should we as Christians actually live a balanced life? This morning while brainstorming about living balanced, I quickly began to redirect my thoughts. Should we actually live a balanced life?

God tells us to put Him first. If we live a balanced life, that would mean putting our worldly things in line with Christ. We would be spending the same amount of time with Christ as we would be our workplace. Christians are not supposed to live a balanced life. We are to put Christ first and allocate more time with Him than anything else. Instead of trying to balance our life, we need to determine how we can flip our life around and live more for Christ than the world.

If you are struggling with putting Christ first, you can make a change today that will help you get your life back on the right track. We can help you grow closer to God and be motived to live for Him. Let us help you flip your life around.

God is Good.
