It is 6 o’clock in the morning and you just wake up. You realize that you have to be at work in an hour and your drive is 35 minutes away. You jump out of bed, throw some clothes on, and head out the door by 6:25 leaving you just enough time to make it to your work by the time you are scheduled to arrive. Then, you turn out of your road…… Traffic… Stand still traffic… You have no choice but to sit and wait.
Waiting is something that none of us love to do. When you order something on Amazon, you must wait. You order your groceries online and you still must wait. Also, visiting a doctor’s office, you typically always have to wait. Waiting is no fun whether it be at home or stuck in traffic on your way to work.
There are many times in our life we are faced with situations that we are forced to wait on something or someone. Then, there are the times that we wait on God. When we want answers, we want God to help us immediately. It is tough waiting on God to roll out His plan for the situations we are placed into. We want to skip the waiting and go right to the resolution. But that is not how God works. He will not introduce a scenario to you and then immediately place you at the finish line. He wants you to experience change, experience great times, and even experience hardships. It may feel like you are waiting on God for a long time but it is all part of His plan. He knows exactly how long you need to be facing certain situations.
Waiting on God can cause us to become angry. Not directly angry at God himself but angry because we don’t have the answers we want right then.
When we wait on the Lord, we are showing that we trust Him. We are showing that we love Him and rely on His strength to carry us through the hardship we are stuck in. When we wait on Him, we are letting Him know that we are faithful to His will.
Are you stuck waiting? Are you frustrated that you don’t have answers? Has a new incident been placed in your life and you are asking God why but you aren’t seeing answers? Remember, God’s plan is perfect. His timing in all situations will always be the best for us.
Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”
Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
Wait for the Lord. Before you make any decision yourself, wait for the Lord.
God is Good…
